The Missions of the Society are:

  1. To increase the knowledge of companion animal infectious diseases through encouragement of basic and applied research
  2. To enhance the professional development of workers in this discipline
  3. To develop and exchange expertise in companion animal infectious diseases and microbiology through periodic meetings and publications
  4. To encourage and foster collaborative efforts for the control of companion animal infectious diseases
  5. To help support research and dissemination of information on companion animal infectious diseases within developing countries
  6. To encourage recruitment and training of young veterinarians in companion animal infectious diseases
  7. To consider and make recommendations on policies pertaining to companion animal infectious diseases as necessary
  8. To interact in an appropriate manner with other scientific organizations as required.
